Whenever we fly, my son takes his car wheelie bag as his own "carry-on luggage". He keeps his toys in it for entertainment on the plane, and there is even a small front pocket ("top" of car), where he can fit a bunch of Matchbox cars! He was only 2 years old in this picture - the bag was small (12" tall) and light enough for him to handle it easily. It's made of soft plush material, and the rolling frame can be quickly removed to convert it into a backpack. He still loves using it over a year later.
My sis-in-law got it at the William Ashley warehouse sale in Toronto, but unfortunately there is no branding on it. Below is a similar type product available through Amazon....
